Profile Settings: Overview

User profiles allow users to enter data more quickly and easily.

Users can only create or edit their own profile, whereas System Administrators can create and edit many default profiles for various roles in the organization. However, System Administrators cannot create profiles for individual users, only for Roles.

Users in a Role can either use the defaults defined by the System Administrators or change them to suit their purposes. Some System Administrator-defined values are "Read Only" - users cannot change these; or "Hidden" - users cannot even see these.
