Dashboard Conditions

During the process of defining a Dashboard, a builder can define Conditions which will be used to define which Dashboard will be shown as the Home Page to the user.

There are two alternative methods which can be used for that purpose:

  • Condition Builder:
Create a Condition which uses values from the existing User Profile. If the user Profile Setting does not yet exist, it must be created and saved.
  • User Roles:
Select all the Security Roles for which this Dashboard should be used as the Home Page.

  1. From the menu, select Designer Menu path separator Dashboards Menu path separator Dashboard Conditions.
  2. Select the Dashboard which you intend to define as a Home Page and click Edit
  3. To use the Condition Builder
    1. Select Condition Builder
    2. Select the User Profile value to be used, and use the available options to define the Condition.
    3. Click Add to move the Condition to the Filter.
  4. To use Roles
    1. Select Roles
    2. Find and select all the Roles for which the current dashboard shall be selected as the Home Dashboard.

NOTE: users will have to have the EXACT role as defined in this setting - no roll-up or roll-down will be applied.
  5. Click OK to close the builder.
  6. Optional: Select the Sequence Number.
In case of a user matching several Dashboard Conditions, the Sequence Number will determine in which dashboard will be displayed as the Home Page - and this will be the dashboard with the lowest Sequence Number.
  7. Click Save

NOTE:

changes to a Dashboard Condition have immediate effect. Users who log into the Web Application after the changes have been made, and who match the condition, will have the corresponding Dashboard(s) applied as their Home Page.
