IMPORTANT

Any changes to a Role will take almost immediate effect for all logged in users who are linked to the modified role - either directly or via inheritance.

If a Role is a System Role, the Settings for Name, Disable, System and Description will have Read Only access.

Name

The name of this role.

Disable

This checkbox is clear by default. Only select it if you want to disable this role.

System

If this checkbox has been ticked, then the role is deemed to be a System Role.

Available in BI

To use this role as a security role for BI reports, you must tick this checkbox.

Notes or comments about this role.

Ancestors

Optional: select one or more roles that this role will inherit properties from.

Clear the relevant checkboxes to remove roles from the ancestors list.

Descendants

Optional: select one or more roles that will use this role's properties.

Clear the relevant checkboxes to remove roles from the descendants list.

Users

Select the names of the users that you want to assign to this role. Clear the checkboxes of those you want to remove from this role.

To remove a user from this role, select their checkbox in the Users list, then click Delete.

If the number of users exceeds 1000, the system will not display any users in the list. Go to the Security Users form to add the role to a user.
