View a Component Configuration

NOTE:

Some Components, their Fields and Relationships are "locked down", i.e., they cannot be modified. Some functionality in the system relies on these attributes to be exactly as they are.

To view a Component Configuration

  1. In the Web Application, select Designer Menu path separator Component Management from the menu. Components are listed in alphabetical order.
  2. Find and open the Component.
  3. The properties of the Component will be displayed as a tab form.

Shows the Component Properties.

Data Fields

Shows all the fields.

Relationships

Shows all the relationships.

BI Configuration

Flags if the component is to be included in BI Reporting, the BI Name and Natural Key.

Rest API

Flags if the component is to be included in the REST API

Location Aware

Optional fields for components whose records can be identified at a specific latitude/longitude, so that the records can be automatically plotted on maps or identified within a certain proximity to a location.

In addition to Latitude and Longitude, you can also specify a "Location name" which defines the information displayed for a record, when clicking or hovering over it on a map.

Visualizations

Select a non-hierarchical field to be used as a category /dimension.

Visualization data source list view: Select the list view to be used as the basis for new data sources in Visualizations, and for opening records when using "Analyze Further" in Visualizations. If left blank, the Default Component Lookup List View will be used.

The form assigned to the selected list view (or default component lookup) will be the form that is opened when opening it from the "Analyze Further" list.
