Fonts for the "Save to PDF" Functionality

To support internationalization when saving a record to PDF. the SAI360 web application is shipped with a comprehensive list of fonts.

However, should these fonts not suffice and some characters are not printed in the PDF file, then you can add additional fonts to the <Drive:>\SAI360.
If they don't already exist, create the folders:

  • <Drive:>\SAI360\pdffonts\bold
  • <Drive:>\SAI360\pdffonts\regular

These additional fonts cannot be used to override the existing fonts. They're only used if the included fonts can't render the text.

The fonts will be selected in the following order, based on whether they have the glyphs necessary to render the text

  • Helvetica fonts - basic ANSI Latin
  • Noto
  • Noto Arabic
  • Noto Hebrew
  • Fonts in the config directory

The first font that can render the text is selected.

exclamation_mark_red

Only use licensed Fonts

If added fonts do not render (text is not displayed as font_not_rendered ), please make sure that the font(s) have been licensed.

One indicator for this being the issue would be an entry in the log files similar to following:

Exception occurred: com.lowagie.text.DocumentException: <Font_Name.ttf> cannot be embedded due to licensing restrictions.
