Monitor the System

All monitoring items (found under Admin Menu path separator Monitoring) are runtime statistics that show how the system is behaving. Statistics menu items deal with task-based statistics; Resources menu items deal with resource-based statistics.

Very few of the Monitoring areas of the system can be modified - typically, they are used as reporting tools for troubleshooting by Customer Support.

Active Sessions

Reports the currently active sessions within the system, including logged-in users and internal system sessions.

Caches

Reports information on internal cache sizes and hit ratios.

You can make a cache active (default) or inactive and purge the cache.

Scheduled Job History Viewer

A centralized view for tracking the execution history of scheduled jobs (such as imports, analytics and system events). This viewer will help users monitor job runs, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues related to job scheduling and execution.

  • Records job runs for system events, analytics and imports, with a detailed form view for each job history record.
  • "Trigger Type" indicates whether a job was run according to its schedule or manually triggered.
  • For System Events, entries are created only when the event actually executes (not just when the schedule runs).
  • "Job Status" displays the current state of the job, such as - In Progress, Completed or Error.

Statistics

Reports counts, and maximum and minimum times of various tasks within the system such as performing an SQL Query, or parsing an XML process definition.

You can turn specific statistics monitoring on or off, reset statistics, purge the task history, and set the maximum size of the task history.

Task History

Reports specific timings for the last n tasks, where n is a number. This number can be configured under Statistics. To do so, set the desired value in the field 'Maximum size of Task History'
