What is a Lookup?

A lookup is a predefined group of values (items) from which one or more may be selected. It displays in the web application as a selection list.

A lookup consists of two parts:

  • the lookup list, and
  • the lookup list items (these are the values contained within the lookup list).

A lookup list can contain many list items, and can be assigned to multiple lookup fields.
