User Name
(Required)

The name the user enters to log in.

Email Address

The user's email address.

Full Name
(Required)

The user's name.

Alternative User ID

Can be used as an alternative unique identifier when importing users into the application.

Description
(Required)

Notes or comments about the user.

Active User

By default, this checkbox is checked. This allows the new user to log in.

Disabled

Select this checkbox to disable the user and they will no be able to log in (by default, this checkbox is clear).

System

If this checkbox has been ticked, then the user has been deemed to be a System User and can only be modified by the BMS Admin user.

Authenticated

This checkbox is selected by default; clear it to define this user as a default user.

If you want to define IP address ranges for non-authenticated users, this checkbox must be clear.

Self Registered User

This flag will be selected when a user was created using the self-registration process.

Force User to reset Password on next Login

If this flag is selected, the User must change the password the next time the User is trying to log into the web application.

Disable Duration (in Minutes}

If a user becomes disabled (e.g. because of too many invalid login attempts), the system will automatically 'enable' the user again after the defined time.

If the value is set to '0', user will remain disabled indefinitely and can only be enabled again manually.

Last Login Date

Last Login Time

System-generated; this date and time cannot be modified.

Login Type

Select one option:

  • Manual: The user must enter their user name and password to log in.
    When set to Manual, the user will not be able to login using OIDC.
  • Automatic: Logs the user into the system using either OIDC or LDAP integration.
    When set to Automatic, the user will not be able to log in manually

Date when Password was changed

  • System-generated and cannot be modified. Shows the date when this user last changed the password.
  • If a Password Expiry Period has been defined in the Global Settings, the password will expire on:
    "Date when Password was Changed" plus "Password Expiry Period".

Force User to re-accept Terms of Use on next Login

Select to force the current user to re-accept the Terms of Use when logging in next.

Terms of Use last accepted

System-generated and cannot be modified. Shows the date when this user last accepted the Terms of Use.

Domains

For automatic Login:
Type the names of the domains users can be logged in to automatically. Separate each domain name with a semicolon ( ; ).

Type ANY if you want to allow users access to any domain on your network.

Domain names are not case-sensitive.

For manual Login:
if you intend to verify user passwords using Active Directory, then you need to enter the domain used for the Active Directory.

If there are several domain, make sure that one of them matches the LDAP server name which is defined on the Authentication page in Global Settings.

Roles

Click on Roles and assign the user to one or more roles.

The user's domain name must be the regular domain name, not the Fully Qualified Domain Name.
For example "myhost" (regular) instead of "myhost.example.com" (FQDN).

Password section

If Authentication via Active Directory is enabled, AND a user is part of the domain which is used for the Authentication, then all Password settings for this user in the application will be ignored. This includes:

  • the password itself (the system will use the password from Active Directory itself).
  • any password format defined within the application.
  • password format

New Password

Resets the user's password to that entered here.

Confirm Password

Retype the new password to confirm it.

Locality

Select the user's geographic location (with its associated language) from the Locality selection list, then click OK.

If you do not set a locality for this user, and the user hasn't set their own locality, the default locality for the system applies.

Time zone

Click Drop-down button and select and select a time zone from the list.

If you do not select a time zone for this user, the one for their locality will apply.

Dashboard

You can use the Dashboard which will be used as the user's "Home Dashboard" when accessing the Web Application.

The user can change this setting at any time, using My Preferences.
