Prerequisites
To be able to use this feature, users will need the following policy role:
- Policy Role - System Administrator’

The Broadcast feature allows administrators to instantly display a message to all users. Once launched, the message appears on every screen and remains visible until it is manually stopped.
Example: To notify users of an upcoming system outage:
There will be a system outage between 7 – 8 PM AEST.

How to instantly Broadcast a message
- In the web application, select Admin
Tools Broadcast - Enter the message that needs to be broadcasted (up to 2000 characters).
- Select the appropriate Severity Level.
- If user should be allowed to dismiss the message during their session, toggle Dismissible on.
- Use the Preview section to review the message.
- Click Save.
- When you are ready send the message, select Launch and confirm when prompted.
- To stop the message from appearing to users, click Stop.

- Only one broadcast message can be active at a time.
- Live messages cannot be edited. To make changes to the message, severity level, or dismiss ability settings, the administrator must stop the live broadcast, apply the updates, and then relaunch it.
- Once a message is live, all users logged into the web application will see it displayed on their screen.
- If a user dismisses the broadcast message, it will not appear again until their session expires or they log out and log back in.
- Roam users will also receive the broadcast as a push notification (provided push notifications are enabled on their device).
- In Roam, the broadcast message will appear under the notification/bell icon, listed as the first item.
- If a Google API Translation key is configured in Global Settings, the system will automatically translate the broadcast message for users in different localities.
