Roam Logs (By User)

The view shows all the logs that have been uploaded by users through the Roam app or automatically collected (see below).

Field

Information

Log Date

Recorded in UTC time for accurate troubleshooting.

User Name

The User Name from whom the log was uploaded.

Full Name

The users 'Full Name' as defined in Admin Menu path separator Security Menu path separator Users

Device

Logs capture device name, model, manufacturer, and OS version, providing essential context for troubleshooting.

Roam Version

The Roam version installed on the device is included in logs, making it easier to identify issues related to specific app versions.

Type of Upload

Auto:

  • Administrators can configure automatic uploads for selected users (see below)
  • Only users which have been set up for automatic logs are included in automatic uploads.

 

Manual:

 

Logs are cleared from the mobile device after upload.

Whenever logs are uploaded or collected from a device they are cleared and the System Logs page (on the device) shows "No records to display".

Roam Logs Data

The view shows the individual Logs Data files from the 'Roam Logs (By User)' view to support troubleshooting and diagnostics.

Clearing Logs

Logs can be deleted manually via the Roam Logs list view, and through the System Event: Delete Roam Logs - System Event

Review the System Event by navigating to Designer Menu path separator Events.

Whenever this event runs, Logs older than 30 days are automatically deleted from the server.

Field

Explanation

Name

Is defaulted to "Delete Roam Logs - System Event" but can be edited if required.

Event Type

Read only field, set to "Roam Logs Clean Up".

Run Time (HH:MM) - if set, event will run daily at this time

A Run Time has to be set for the event to fire at the defined time. The frequency will be set on the second page.

You must enter the time in 24 hour format.

NOTE:
Tomcat service must be running at the specified time for the event to be triggered. If for some reason Tomcat service is down at the defined time, the event will not run on that day.

 

Last Run

When the event was last run.

Settings

Start Date

Select the date from which the event will commence running.

Frequency in Days

Define the repeat interval (in days) when the event will be run.
