Delete a Field

Before you delete a data field from a component ensure that the it is NOT used in any forms, views, filters, etc. If the field is referenced elsewhere in the system, the system will not delete it.

When you delete a data field from a component, you also delete the data that is stored in the field. There is no undo process and the data can only be restored from a database backup.

1. Open the Component in Component Management.
2. Click on the Data Fields tab. A subform displays all the existing data fields.
3. Expand the data field you want to delete.
4. Tick the option 'Mark for Deletion (will be deleted on next Publish)'
5. Save.
