Delete a Field

Before you delete a data field from a component ensure that the data field is NOT used in any forms, views, filters, reports and graphs. If a data field is deleted and it is still being referenced in any of these items then it will cause these items to stop working properly.

When you delete a data field from a component, you also delete the data that is stored in this field. There is no undo process and the data can only be restored from a database backup.

1. Open the Component in Component Management.
2. Click on the Data Fields tab. A subform displays all the existing data fields.
3. Expand the data field you want to delete.
4. Tick the option 'Mark for Deletion (will be deleted on next Publish)'
5. Save.
