Advanced Functionality around Views

In addition to the "basic" Functionality which is described in the previous Sections, some Users may have additional advanced Options to work with Views.

These Options can be either, or both of the following:

  • Advanced Filtering:
Allows the User to create, and save, complex Filters for List Views
  • Custom List Views:
Allows the User to modify existing List View, for example
    • add or remove Columns from a View without needing to access the Design Tools.
This includes the ability to select fields from the underlying Component, and/or related Components.
    • defining Views as "Global" views.
    • sharing Views, so that other users can make use of these Views.

Warning

It is advisable to only give these additional Options to a limited number of users, who have some understanding of the concept of relational databases.

The reason for this is that badly designed Filters, or Views, could potentially have significant performance impacts on the database.
