Find closest Location in Roam

Enabling 'Find Closest' Location in Roam

For hierarchical components, like Location, if a Latitude and Longitude field are available, then when selecting a Location on a form, Roam can use the device GPS to identify the current location, and show the user which Locations are closest to them.

NOTE

The control to find closest locations or sites will be added automatically to the component lookup on a Roam form once both of these conditions are met:

The underlying component has

a rollup defined (parent/child relationships)
the following two fields: Latitude and Longitude.

Result for the End User

On a mobile device, a user will have the option to retrieve a list of the Locations which are closest to the current geolocation:

By tapping on the target icon roam_icon_find_closest , the system will list locations/sites in order of proximity to the current geolocation:
