Delete a Role

  • You must have Administrator role permissions to view and delete a role.
  • If there are users assigned to a role you want to delete, they will be automatically unassigned from that role when you confirm its deletion. If those users are assigned to other roles, those other roles will apply; if they have no other roles, the default role will apply.
  • You cannot delete any System Role.
  • You cannot delete the Default Role without first making another role the Default Role; there must always be one default role in the system. The Default Role is assigned to the Default User.
  • If the role you want to delete is part of a hierarchy (that is, it has ancestors and descendants), you must remove the role from the list of ancestors or descendants before you can delete it.
  • You are asked to confirm this deletion.

To delete a role

  1. From the menu, select Admin Menu path separator Security Menu path separator Security Roles. The list of roles is displayed.
  2. Locate the Role in the list and open it.
  3. Check that this is the role you want to delete, then click Delete.

    You are asked to confirm this deletion.
