From an Administrator's and Designer's Perspective
SAI360 is powered by the Pentaho Enterprise Edition.
The following section will explain the level of integration between Pentaho and SAI360, and also will elaborate on any necessary administrative steps which will be necessary for linking these tools.
Use of SAI360 Security Roles
SAI360 has it's own set of Security Roles and users, which are used to control access to the Web Application.
All these roles and users will also be applied for the new Data Analysis tool. When you log into the SAI360 BI User Console, it will "know" which roles you have, and apply access accordingly.
This will be the case when you access the BI User Console via SAI360, or if you log into the BI User Console directly.
To access SAI360 Reporting, a User MUST have a Password
When a user is logging into SAI360, the system will initiate an authentication process with the BI server.
For this process to be successful, and for the user to gain access to SAI360 Reports, it is necessary that a User does have a password defined.
The implication is that the Default User, who does not have a password, will NOT have access to SAI360 reports.
Having said this:
- Single sign on IS supported. If enabled, eligible users will be automatically logged into SAI360, and will have access to SAI360 Reporting, as long as the user record in SAI360 does have a password defined.
- In case of single sign on, this password can be random, and possibly even unknown to the user.
