Hint

The information provided in this section is only high level. If you need more detailed instruction, please refer to the Pentaho Online Help.

Basic Dashboards

A "basic" dashboard consists of a collection of reports, which are neither filtered by "Prompt", nor are they "linked".

If you want to ...

Perform these steps ...

Create and modify Dashboards

In the BI User console

  • Select File Menu path separator New Menu path separator Dashboard
  • Define which "Template" you want to apply (e.g. 2 by 2, 2 over 1, etc)
  • Under Objects Menu path separator General Settings, define the Page Title in the Properties tab.
  • Use the Browse and Files panels to select the reports you want to use in this dashboard.
  • Select Objects Menu path separator Untitled <x>, and name each panel.

Save the Dashboard, and make it available for use in SAI360.

To make the dashboard available in SAI360 for 'End Users', you will need to first save it. When you save the dashboard, you can control if it will be accessible for yourself only, or for a wider user group.

  • Dashboard is for own use only:
If no-one else but a certain user is to have access to this report in SAI360, you can save the report to the path:
    "Home/<User Name>".
  • Dashboard is publicly available:
To allow access to a report by many users, you can save it to the path:
    "Public/e360/<Folder Name>/<File Name>"

NOTE:
For users to be able to see the content of each panel, they also need to have access to the individual reports.
