Maintaining Referential Data

To maintain the integrity of already existing Emissions Results records, the Emissions Management Module has comprehensive mechanisms put in place to

  • Protect these existing records from unintended changes and ensure saved results will never be inconsistent with relevant referential data.
  • Ensure Emissions Results records which need to be recalculated after a change are being flagged as "invalid" and will be re-listed as incomplete records.

When a Time Period is closed, if changes to Emission Sources, Material Inventory, Calculations or Constants that affect existing Emission Data are attempted, the system will prevent you from making the change with an error message on save.

NOTE:

You can re-open the closed Time Period record to be able to make these changes.

For Open Time Periods, if changes are made to Emission Sources, Material Inventory, Calculations or Constants that affect existing Emissions Data, the system will:

  • Display a warning message on save and the related records will be invalidated if the user opts to proceed with the change.
  • Identify and flag the existing Emission Data Records as invalid/incomplete and these records will appear in the "Incomplete" section of Emissions Data Entry screen.

The user will then have to select and re-save the invalid records and the system will re-calculate the Emissions Results based on the updated factors.
